INAUGURAL "PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR" FEATURING MUDVAYNE AND BLACK LABEL SOCIETY TO LAUNCH THIS SUMMER
LOS ANGELES — This summer just got a whole lot hotter, harder, faster and louder.
THE PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR 2009, featuring MUDVAYNE and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, will kick off July 24 in Portland, ME, and conclude September 9, in Oklahoma City, OK (see complete itinerary below). Joining the two metal juggernauts on the road will be STATIC-X, SUICIDE SILENCE, DOPE, BURY YOUR DEAD, and the extremely twisted HELLZAPOPPIN sideshow review, performing during set changes throughout the evening. Pre-sale tickets are available to all of the bands’ fan club members beginning Wednesday, June 10, at 12pm local time at www.pedaltothemetaltour.com (website will go live June 10), with general public on sale beginning Friday, June 12, at 10am local time.
"The tour started as a summer tour with us and Black Label Society, but as we started fleshing out ideas, it transformed into this really cool concept," says Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray. The final result is the inaugural run of THE PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR, a road ready and battle-proven assemblage of hard rock and heavy metal bands guaranteed to raise temperatures and melt asphalt over the summer months. "We’re really excited, because this package is a merging of great bands, good people and fucking amazing fans. It’ll be great to bring them all together."
"I was looking forward to a full throttle assault with just Mudvayne this summer, but when Chad said ‘Let’s do more,’ I was all-in." declares Zakk Wylde, the iconic and self professed General Patton of Black Label Society. Adding, "On behalf of JD, Craig, Nick, the Doom Crew Inc. and myself, we can’t wait to see our Black Label family and the entire Black Label nation once again, rollin’ through hell and destroying everything in our path! Fire up the barbecues, fire up the tunes, and get ready for the rest of your Pedal To The Metal family to fire it up and let the engines roll… Game m-f-’n on!"
Says Static-X frontman Wayne Static of the tour: "I’m very picky about who we tour with. I think Static-X slaughter most bands live, and I pride myself in our show – I refuse to open for a band that I don’t think is worthy, so that says a lot about Mudvayne, Zakk Wylde, and this entire package."

Greatest Hits Package To Be Released April 21, 2009
New York, NY (February 25, 2009)-Seven albums deep, Black Label Society has compiled their greatest material into a special one-shot package. On April 21, Eagle Rock Entertainment will unleash the massive greatest hits CD/DVD Skullage, brewing with 10 years of heavy, ferocious, rock. [Pre-Book order date April 1, Retail Sales Price $24.98]. The individual 115 minute DVD ($14.98) and individual CD ($13.98) will also be available separately.
The career retrospective Skullage CD portion includes a cross-section of the most brutal BLS tracks, including "13 Years of Grief," "Doomsday Jesus," and "New Religion." The DVD is a mash-up of material, with various live sets (including acoustic versions of "The Blessed Hellride," "Spoke In The Wheel," and "Stillborn") and some of the most visually innovative BLS music videos. Spend time with Zakk as he shares his memories of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, explains the motivation behind his most well known songs, and displays his treasure trove of axes. You get what you expect with Zakk - pranks and antics abound as we visit his home, hang with him and meet his dogs.
BLS frontman Zakk Wylde has spent the last twenty years establishing himself as not only a guitar icon, but also a rather prolific songwriter. Studying at the alter of Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhoads, Wylde is now revered by the latest wave of metal guitarists.
The band will embark on the Black Label Bash tour on March 6. With the help of guitarist Nick "Evil Twin" Catanese, drummer Craig "Louisiana Lightning" Nunenmacher and bassist John "JD" DeServio, this will make for one rough, pummeling ride.
Eagle Rock Entertainment develops, acquires and produces music programming for a wide range of notable and high profile artists, which the company distributes on a worldwide basis. Eagle Rock Entertainment, Eagle Vision and Eagle Eye Media are wholly owned divisions of Eagle Rock Group, LTD.

On Monday, January 19th, Zakk’s Wylde’s father passed away.
The following is a statement from Zakk regarding his passing:
My father, Jerome F.Wielandt who served as an inspiration to me and my music throughout my life, has passed away from cancer. His influence on my life and the life of others has motivated me in ways that have been both unexpected and profound.
My father spent his youth as a orphan in New Jersey who was subsequently drafted to serve his country. A World War II veteran, he participated in the events of D-Day at Omaha Beach as well as Normandy.
My father meant more than the world to me, and his passing will no doubt influence my direction in life and career as this new year continues to unfold.
I am asking fans to allow time for me and my family to grieve in private.
In lieu of flowers, our family would like donations made in Jerome F. Wielandt's memory to:

From his early work with Ozzy Osbourne, to his seminal playing with Black Label Society, to his distinctive solo outings, Zakk Wylde has distinguished himself as one of the most fiery and furious lead players in all of rock. Now the Gibson Custom Shop has released a new Inspired By model that’s as scorching and vicious as its namesake’s chops: the new Zakk Wylde ZV Buzzsaw, available now in a limited run of only 50 guitars.
Appearing like some rebel offspring of two of the most radical body shapes in rock history — the Gibson SG and the Gibson Flying V — the Zakk Wylde ZV Buzzsaw carries everything a player needs to get the job done: dual EMG 81 & 85 active humbucking pickups in the bridge and neck positions yield a sizzling output with unprecedented fidelity, dual Volume controls and a master Tone provide easy balancing of your individual voice, and a Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and V tailpiece with through-body stringing give enhanced sustain and resonance, along with easy intonation. The solid-mahogany body is finished in ebony with an orange "buzzsaw" graphic, while the glued-in three-piece maple neck carries a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with Custom-grade pearl block inlays and Les Paul Custom-styled headstock veneer.
"Everything on this guitar is exactly as Zakk wanted it," said Michael McGuire, Operations Manager of Gibson Custom, "including the pickup selector switch on the upper-rear point of the body."
Each of the 50 limited edition examples of the Inspired By Zakk Wylde ZV Buzzsaw will come with an exclusive Gibson Custom hardshell case, custom care kit, and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Zakk himself.
Full specs include:
Solid mahogany body
Ebony finish with orange buzzsaw motif, ebony back finish
